LEISURE & EDUCATION
As the boundaries between work and leisure break down in the developed world and the concept of lifelong learning expands, interest in policy in this area and in the markets connected with it is growing. Tourism and sport are established major investment sectors; entertainment, fostered by the expansion of the contents rights business, continues to grow. At the same time, education is broadening its remit with developments such as entrepreneurial education in schools, motivational training in organisations and the drive to create more diverse and more product workforces.
- The Europe Japan Centre has published a series of books in this area (with Financial Times Publishing) and has researched a range of issues from sports sponsorship to recommendations for increasing tourism and case studies of women in management.
Recent research programmes include:
- Management of Technology courses in Europe
- Advertising agency corporate universities
- Working successfully with Japanese people
- Public awareness of the Euro 2004 football championships
